MAY 29, 2005 -- The Final Night of NEAL MEDLYN IS HIGHLY SEXUALIZED AND IN DANGER! I did this weekly show for three months and it was pretty grueling. Drug deals in the basement, low attendance, etc. One guy said he was going to punch me in the face but then decided to watch the show instead. The bar had a tiny stage and I ran all the tech myself and I think I only had more than four people on the very first night. I've always been happy that Kenny and Bridget came to see me during this kind miserable time, made me feel really good that they came. On the upside, I probably made up more material during those months than I had before and lots of stuff began (the lionel richie opera, doing super sweet songs, plots involving civil war and religions) up in that mutherfucker. Which I know now but for real at the time it really felt awful and sucked.

JUNE 2, 2005 -- Automatic Vaudeville, 511 West 54th Street, 10PM, $10

JUNE 6, 2005 -- Neal competes in the Miss Galapagozanga Burlesque Competition, hosted by Mr. Murray Hill! 10PM, Free. Galapagos Art Space 70 North 6th Street, Williamsburg Holy shit! This was a crazy night. Someone heckled one of the performers with “why don’t you just kill yourself!!” and another patron got into a fistfight with another performer, on stage!

JUNE 27, 2005 -- Neal performs at STARLIGHT LOUNGE. Julian Fleisher Presents: Monday Music at Starlight for which I am the performer! "This was super fun. No idea what I did, but I think it was NEAL MEDLYN WILL DRINK POISON UNTIL HE DIES which I subsequently toured through the South that summer."

JULY 19, 2005 -- TOUR!! Nightlight, Chapel Hill, NC 10PM, 405 1/2 West Rosemary Street "Everyone was so wonderful! They had seen my website, which no one had ever bothered to look at before. They also gave me every single dollar they made, which is just crazy. A noise band played ont eh same bill with some dancers and even though I was way too old to be in their midst, I was very pleased."

JULY 23, 2005 -- TOUR!! Super Happy Fun Land, Houston, TX 8PM, 2610 Ashland Street at West 27th in the Heights "Houston is crazy! People are so mad! No one wanted to pay to get in! I got very drunk. There's a picture from this show on the PICTURES page. Later that night an attractive lady locked herself in her car to listen and freak out alone to some heavy metal. Houston!!!"
